Shahid Afridi, who was previously the captain of the Pakistan cricket team and had been recently appointed as the interim chief selector of the Pakistan Cricket Board’s management committee, has stepped down from his role.
According to the reports, Sana Mir and Arif Saeed have also resigned along with Afridi due to a lack of time for meetings. Haroon Rashid has been brought back into the management committee which has raised questions over conflict of interest.
Najam Sethi, the MC Chairman, stated that Afridi, Mir, and Saeed informed the MC of their absences from meetings during the first meeting in December. Haroon, who previously served as a member of the MC before resigning and becoming the chief selector, was reinstated, but Sethi maintained that there was no conflict of interest.
