KARACHI: Pervez Musharraf, a former president, will have his funeral prayer on Tuesday. Mr. Musharraf’s funeral prayer would be place at the polo field at Malir Cantonment. The army cemetery is next to Gate 5 of Malir Cantt, where the former president will be buried.

Musharraf, left Pakistan for medical treatment in 2016 after a travel ban was relaxed, passed away on Sunday in Dubai at the age of 79. His remains will returned on Monday, according to senior authorities.

He had Amyloidosis, ( a group of rare, serious conditions caused by a build-up of an abnormal protein called organs and tissues throughout the body), and his family was informed last summer that he had little prospect of recovery.
The retired general was taken to the American Hospital in Dubai. Musharraf has previously been hospitalised to Dubai hospitals. He had been battling the uncommon illness amyloidosis for a long time. In June of last year, the former military dictator was hospitalised for three weeks.
