LHC Judges Withdraw Letter Asking for VVIP Passes to PSL Matches

LAHORE: On Feb 9, a spokesperson at Lahore High Court stated the letter, requesting for VVIP passes for judges was a ‘misunderstanding.’ The request has now been withdrawn.

The letter was sent to the manager of the Multan stadium for the upcoming Pakistan Super League. The document was regarding exclusive permits for judges and their families.

What happened:

On February 7, 2023, Assistant Registrar Protocol Javed Saeed Khan wrote a letter to the stadium manager on behalf of the senior additional registrar. This letter went viral on social media and received criticism from the general public. The letter’s subject line read: ‘Provision of chairman box, VVIP passes, and red vehicle stickers for PSL.’

The LHC officer requested the stadium manager to set up a chairman box, provide 30 VVIP passes, red car stickers, and 25 VVIP passes for each match.

Withdrawn letter:

According to a letter sent to the stadium manager later, the previous request was addressed to the stadium ‘unintentionally.’
