RAWALPINDI: Chief of Army Staff (COAS), General Syed Asim Munir, distributed honors to martyrs and warriors in a ceremony held at General Headquarters in Rawalpindi. The COAS praised the officers and soldiers of the Pakistan Army for their brave services and outstanding contributions during operations.
Also presenting them with military accolades, including 51 officers with the Sitara-e-Imtiaz (Military), 22 officers and soldiers with the Tamgha-e-Basalat, and 2 soldiers with the United Nations special medals. The ceremony was attended by a large number of senior army officers and the families of martyrs.

“Undoubtedly, today we live in a free atmosphere due to the martyrdom and immense sacrifices of our heroes,” said the Army Chief. “The sacrifices of martyrs and the services of warriors are our precious heritage and a source of pride,” added the COAS.
“The Pakistan Army, as an institution, always remembers and values every individual affiliated with it and their families, and our bond is like a proud and exemplary family,” stated the Army Chief. Additionally, the COAS emphasized that every soldier and officer of the Pakistan Armed Forces prioritizes their duties and responsibilities, rising above regional, linguistic, and political biases and privileges.

“A strong army ensures the safety and unity of the nation.” Furthermore, expressing deep sorrow over recent attacks on military installations, memorials, and martyrs, the Army Chief declared that 25th May will be celebrated as “Pakistan’s Martyrs Day.”
