National Games 2023 Inaugurated by PM Shehbaz Sharif in Quetta

QUETTA: During the inauguration of the National Games 2023 in Quetta, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif reiterated his commitment to uphold the law and ensure that those responsible for the vandalism and arson on May 9 are held accountable.

He condemned the attacks on Quaid-e-Azam’s residence, Radio Pakistan building in Peshawar, and GHQ in Rawalpindi, emphasizing that such acts do not represent the Pakistani mindset. Sharif expressed the need to take necessary measures to prevent similar incidents in the future.

Referring to May 9 as a “black day,” the PM stressed that those who disrespect martyrs and fighters cannot be tolerated. He praised the sacrifices made by the Pakistan Army and their families in the fight against terrorism. Sharif reaffirmed his determination to crush terrorism. Adding more he said, that Balochistan and Quetta have become peaceful havens after facing a wave of terrorism.

Moreover, the Prime Minister extended his congratulations to all the athletes participating in the National Games 2023. Additionally, he mentioned his plans to hold important meetings with political leaders during his visit to Quetta.

Governor of Balochistan, Abdul Wali Kakar, welcomed the Prime Minister upon his arrival in Quetta. The Prime Minister is scheduled to formally inaugurate the event and engage in crucial discussions with political leaders.
