After attending the Textile Expo in Karachi, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif had a meeting with renowned singer and social worker Shehzad Roy, with Sindh Governor Kamran Tessori also present. The meeting focused on the devastating floods caused by heavy rains, which had affected a large portion of the country.
Shehzad Roy praised the prime minister for his prompt assistance to the flood victims and his efforts in their rehabilitation. Governor Tessori took to Twitter to share about the meeting between the prime minister, Roy, and himself at the Governor House. Roy is well-known for his philanthropic work and advocacy on social issues, particularly in the areas of education reform, child support, and the prohibition of corporal punishment.
He recently spoke at a UNICEF event in Islamabad, highlighting the need to change the mindset of teachers and create classrooms free from violence. In recognition of his outstanding contributions, Roy was honored with the Education Excellence Award by President Arif Alvi at a summit organized by the Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry. He has previously received prestigious awards such as Tamgha-e-Imtiaz, Sitara-e-Eisaar, and Sitara-e-Imtiaz for his exemplary services to the country.
