LAHORE: The residence of President Chaudhry Parvez Elahi, a president of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) was once again raided by a team from the anti-corruption establishment (ACE) and the police on Thursday in Lahore.

The raid was conducted after PTI leader Elahi’s interim bail was cancelled, but he was not found at the location.

Unlike the previous raid earlier this month, during which the team used an armored personnel vehicle to break open the main gate of Elahi’s residence in Gulberg, this time the ACE team faced no obstacles in carrying out the search.

The ACE has stated that Elahi is wanted in a case related to the misuse of powers and embezzlement of development funds.

During the raid, the Zahoor Elahi Road was closed for traffic, causing significant inconvenience to commuters for several hours.

The ACE team remained at the scene for an extended period as they sought permission from authorities to search the adjacent residence of PML-Q president Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain, who is Elahi’s neighbor.

In a previous raid, the ACE had also entered Shujaat’s house without permission, leading to criticism from the government’s ally.

The ACE has stated that they will only conclude the raid after ensuring that Elahi is not present in the vicinity.

It is rumored that PTI leader Elahi is facing pressure to leave the PTI following the events of May 9.

In a video message, PTI leader Elahi expressed his support for Imran Khan and his son, Moonis Elahi.

He emphasized the importance of respecting the army, as well as the offices of the Chief Justice of Pakistan and the Prime Minister.
