Renowned Singer Salman Ahmad Condemns May 9 Violence

Salman Ahmad, a renowned singer and close aide of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan, expressed his strong condemnation of the violence that took place on May 9. He expressed his distress over the events that unfolded following Imran Khan’s arrest in the Al-Qadir Trust corruption case by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB).

Salman Ahmad demanded that those responsible for the mayhem on May 9 be punished in accordance with the law of the land. He emphasized the importance of safeguarding Pakistan and ensuring that no harm comes to the country.

In the aftermath of the May 9 vandalism, where rioters set fire to military installations, public and private buildings, causing extensive financial losses, more than two dozen PTI leaders, workers, and ticket holders have resigned from the party. They have strongly condemned the violence and expressed their disapproval of the destructive acts.

Previously, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Secretary Information Punjab, Mussarat Cheema, and her husband Jamshed Iqbal Cheema also announced their resignation from the party and retirement from politics. In a joint press conference at the national press club in Rawalpindi, Mussarat Cheema and Jamshed Cheema condemned the violence that took place on May 9.
