Election commission nullifies results of PK-23 Shangla, orders re polling

The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) ordered repolling in PK-23, Shangla, due to a low female voter turnout in general elections on July 25. The original polls and results have been declared null and void due to fact that less than 10% of the total votes included female voters.
Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf’s Shaukat Yousefzai had won but ECP withheld his victory notification. Out of 86,698 registered women, only 3,505 voted.
